Jessica Hardial, MA, LCSW, PhD (c)

Jessica Hardial, MA, LCSW, PhD (c) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works in different capacities. She has ten years experience as a social worker. She worked as a school social worker for the NYC Department of Education for over 5 years, where she worked with school aged children to support their social-emotional needs to enhance their academic performance. She is an Adjunct Professor for SUNY Old Westbury where she teaches undergraduate-level courses in the sociology department. She loves using her lived experiences as a clinical social worker and connecting them to her sociology courses. She is the founder and Clinical Director of Blossoming Lotus Therapy LCSW PLLC (Blossominglotustherapy.com). She founded Blossoming Lotus Therapy from the belief that despite the muddy surroundings and dirtiest waters, the Lotus produces the most beautiful flower. Blossoming Lotus Therapy was founded as a safe space for individuals and families to find peace and healing while blossoming into their best selves.  Jessica Hardial, MA, LCSW,  is a doctoral student at Fielding Graduate University. Her current interests include foster care experiences, young adults who were discharged from foster care, higher education, phenomenology, somatics, and Latinx communities. Her newest project consists of being a contributing author in "Latinx in social work". This book includes stories that heal, inspire and connect communities.

“…I believe every Latina needs a motive as to why they are doing this to be successful. My motive was to escape my childhood and help my mother move forward…As a clinical social worker, I strive to provide quality care to everyone. Growing up with limited funds, I understood the value being treated with respect and dignity. I use my privilege and position of power to advocate for those who are oppressed by society.”- Jessica Hardial, MA, LCSW, PhD (c) ⁣

Latinx in Social Work is a book is about space. The space we take up, the spaces we create and nurture, and the spaces that have yet to exist, but are so crucial to the growth and development of Latinx social workers, mental health practitioners, executives, and professionals in all industries in this country, and beyond. This book is a revolutionary step in creating a movement that is committed to owning our own narratives, naming common but unspoken struggles and challenges, and driving our own healing from the past while highlighting our successes and creating a space for hope for the future.
